FINAL FANTASY VII App Reviews

Frustrating, it made me lost my progression for like 10 times now. There is absolutely no reason why this bug hasnt been seen in the test period of the final version of its release! @&)(&(;::6)!!!!! Im on iphone 5c, the game put itself on pause when hou fight for a long time and cast magic. It is impossible to exit this mode, you have the reset the app. Been report to square for many times by now. It hasnt been fixed yet, so i don t recommand the game as long as it hasnt been updated and officially fixed... Bad support, bad frame rate on map, bad aspect ration, bad control. The game is still amazing, but this port is awfull. Keep your 18$...

Love FFVII and there is little you could do to make my not enjoy playing it, but this pause mid battle glitch has caused me to restart the app so many times. Getting to the point Im just constantly worried about it happening and cant enjoy the game. Needs a fix!

Best game ever, totally worth the money Had an issue while snowboarding down Gaia, every time i go thru a wooded area the background flashes enormous models of the trees that cover the entire horizon. Was weird. But didnt affect gameplay

The game definitely brings back a lot of childhood memories and the best thing is that you can do this game in invincible mode which you can just go through the stories without the annoying random battles. However I have to say its one of the games with the most frustrating control! For example when you try to get Vincent, you have to enter the code for the safe, I spent about an hour trying to input the number correctly, it always goes over and that was extremely frustrating. The first number being 36, you get above 30 and you have to slow down, every time you press to increase it goes up by at least two to three numbers, if you stop at 35, 95% of the time you will get 37 if you press again. Another frustrating thing was at Yuffies house, the lever isnt responding. Your character is hiding behind a structure and its very hard to move them out, you even have to spend time in trying fiddle with the direction to go up the stairs. Needless to say I am not too pleased with this iOS version for sure.

There is a randomly occurring glitch that freezes the game !!! You loose all progress since your last save.

An almost perfect port. Worst glitch - goes to "pause" which cannot be undone (freezes) and you have to reset the app thus losing your spot in the game. Annoying glitch - super slow when moving around the world map, especially during boat rides. Those are the two major fixes needed. It pains me to not give this game a 5/5. I spent an hour grinding exp after jumping off the Midgar train.. game glitches climbing the ladder and i have to reset.. all progress. Id rather just play the game on my PS1. You would think all these years later the game would run fine, but no. All in all an incredible game with an amazing story.. but bugs make it infuriating.

Playing this game solely based on nostalgia. There is no fps regulating control, super fast during the motorcycle minigame but disgustingly slow in world map, especially when you are in either the Highwind or the submarine. Wish the port was done better, seems like little effort was put in to optimize the playing experience on mobile. Largely the very same game. Control is very not intuitive, screen isnt 16:9. The list goes on. Still the best game of all time, just not on iOS devices.

So i loved this game back in the day and still do so thanks for porting this game. I almost didnt buy it because square enix seems to over price their games all the time. I also have a first gen ipad mini so i was worried about buying this and not being able to play. It works just fine for anyone else who wants to know. The main map lag issue does need to get fixed so please patch this. You can help this a bit by hitting y and going into your menu then back out right away by pressing b. This seemed to make a decent fps improvement. One other area of brutal fps is the final boss scene where he casts a spell the brings this whole long meteor sun smashing into planets seem to take literally 2 minutes just to watch the spell finish. Dear god its that bad. Aside from that the game ran very well for me and i enjoyed playing it again many years later. I would have rated higher but the lag issues on the map are very annoying at times and should be a priority to be corrected for the price of this game. Alot of hours can be spent playing this game so although it was 20 bucks you can literally play this game for 40 plus hours or more with side quests so it does justify a higher than normal price. It also would have some really good replayability.

The game is amazing...until you get to the world map and you get 1fps.... Why did I play for so long and now I cant finish! Please fix

Too many glitches. The "pause" freeze glitch has happened numerous times and now my submarine is stuck at Junon harbour, unable to move or submerge. Fix the problems. Theres tons of complaints about the bugs, yet no patches.

I got to the gold saucer, and figured Id try the speed event to get the Umbrella...dont even try it. Its blocky, and the controls are awful. Its sad to think you cant get a 100% game :(

I have played ff4 and ff6 on iOS and they were great, but ff7 is not a well made adaption. It crashes frequently, and they dont have an auto-recovery or allow for frequent saving, which means youll waste a lot of time redo things. The overworld is very laggy making it a hassle to navigate. I would not I recommend buying this game unless your device is better than an iPad 2 and until they have fixed the crashes. Also, the controls are a bit wonky, though you get used to them.

Thank you for finally coming out with this as a app. Now I dont have to use emulators and ROMs. Been waiting a LONG time for FF7 to come to the app stores.

Loving the game again all over. I know some complain about the blue bars but Id rather have them then miss parts of the screen due to buttons. The only thing I dislike is that the buttons are labeled XYBA as if using Xbox instead the regular PlayStation layout. If you could add the option to change that I would be thrilled. Im sure its just me thats annoyed by it though

CONS -Some music starts over at the beginning of the track after EVERY BATTLE. Music is important in FF, sad to have this happen. This includes the world map, main theme. Dispointing -on screen controller button emulation is not up to par with other square mobile RPGs. Lacking in any short cuts, distinctly difficult to use during mini games like The motorcycle game. PROs -Its FFVII, Its a historically important game. If your have never played it, here is another chance for you to give it a shot. -Improved translation/grammar/spelling over the PlayStation version. SLIGHTLY. -Supposedly has MFI controller support, if you wanna shell out for one.

Purchased the entire batch of games after buying the EXCELLENT and OUTSTANDING FF6. (Nearly $80.00 bucks for 5 or 6 more full games) Have played most of them on the console and knew more or less what to expect since they were clearly older games. Didnt really give them a good try at all but I could see what they would be like and Ill live with that. Then I saw FF7 listed and figured being later in the numbering scheme that it would be as good as FF6. SPENT ANOTHER $18.00 bucks. What a WASTE OF MONEY. UNINTUITIVE controls, pixelated characters and screen, etc etc TERRIBLE! HORRIBLE! People, parents, gift givers, whoever...please do not buy this game . Only FF6 is worthy. I am sure I will NOT play this. I hope my experience will save you your money! Ugh! One star for effort and the Final Fantasy name. If I EVER play this game and change my mind Ill change my review. GROSSLY OVERPRICED . I HOPE 100000 people see this review and DONT BUY this wreck. Sorry to the developers but this is garbage compared to FF6. Not even in the same universe.

i truly love this game, the direction and angle of the camera on every level and place in my opinion sets..what can only be described as the tone. Many games now a days give little effort to setting tone its all graphics, which is nice but Im not a kid anymore. i enjoy a nice story and since its final fantasy i love the grind!

The controls for this game are difficult to get used to and to open Nibel safe impossible.... was fun but can never 100% so no point. Waste of money currently!
