Fast forward

I love the game and the features added to it. What would make this game great on iOS is a fast forward button like on final fantasy 9 iOS. Definitely try to add that in!!!

Impressed

I dont know why anyone has written bad reviews about this game, it is EXACTLY as I remember it being when it was first released in 97. The controls take a little getting used to but overall Im very impressed with the game and recommend playing it on iPads for the size of the screen

Best game ever

Everything works perfect and I love that I can play my favorite game of all time on my phone!!!

Cant save want refund

The iCloud save feature will not work at all so I cant save at all. Want a refund

Conflicting Feelings

I grew up with this game, and the sheer awesome factor of having it in my pocket almost makes up for its obvious shortcomings. That said, it could have been done better. The sound could have been upgraded, and the controls, though usable, look awful and really detract from what is on screen. Plenty of RPGs are on iOS with an appear-when-you-touch-the-screen control scheme that doesn’t get in the way of visuals. The buttons also just aren’t designed well. Add that to the screen size problem with two sizable bars on either side, and you’re looking at a very small area of gameplay. Its obvious they just pushed this through as fast as possible, and not for a cheap price. I would think a simple-ish update would fix these problems. There’s already an HD version available, at least the resolution could have been better. Bottom line: beyond excited to have the game, it looks and plays awkward.

FF7 cmon

My favorite game of all time finally I can play wherever I want. Theres a button on screen to disable random encounters so thats there to temp you all the time...very temping. Controls took some getting used to and Im sure choco racing will be frustrating with the screen controls as apposed to a controller but it will be well worth it. If you love this game, get it. If youve never played this game, get it. Best story line in a game Ive ever played; and Im 30 with no life, ha!

Game is great, controls are garbage

I like this game a lot, but Ive almost deleted it several times due to the control issues. Not being able to get around npcs, spending minutes of time trying to position just right to get on a ladder, and directional control changing at each camera shift really take the fun out of it sometimes. Sticking with it though, thanks for a cool game.

Awesome Port of the Classic

I honestly dont have any idea why people are getting so fed up about the mobile version of ff7. Its actually one of the best ports Ive played. Sure it does cost you quite a sum of money and it needs a lot of space but those are the only problems I dont like, and theyre not even that big of a problem. The gameplay is just as it was as on the pc and PlayStation version. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone :). P.S The controls are NOT garbage :D

Dont have to leave the house anymore

Life is complete. No need to leave the house. This is all I wanted in life!

Brilliant

Wanna keep buying $1 games to find out that they aret as good as you hoped? This game is definitely worth the money. It has a ton of settings options that can fit your gaming needs. What are you looking for in an RPG? This is it.

Perfect!

My favorite game of all time works on my iPad with a Bluetooth controller. Im having a great time playing.

Perfect Except for one thing

Please make your games with widescreen support ! My 6S plus is dying for fullscreen

Nearly Perfect!

**Edit** I know this may be asking for too much already, but considering Ive been playing IX on my phone, is it possible Silicon Studios Thailand can rework VII the controls and graphics to the same extent as IX? I bumped it down a star due to VII being such a rough port. Its still my favorite game, but I feel like it could be conceived a bit better. Like I said in the original review, the overlay really gets in the way of me enjoying it once again; its just starting to feel like a novelty.. Another thing thats bothering me is: where are the achievements? PSN and Steam got them... What about iOS? Some of the earlier FF games got it. Why is the iOS scene so fragmented? **Original** Its a bittersweet day to see my favorite game of all time get the iOS treatment (excited to see the rest of the PSX collection). Since Ive literally only played a few minutes of it, Ill express things Id like to see. This game needs no introduction, so Ill skip that part (its definitely worth a finish if youve, astonishingly never completed it or.. Even worse.. Never heard of it **YIKES**). Although I have enjoyed it thus far, here are my minor quibbles that I have with the game: • The movement around the world seems a bit more fast than I remember. Not a problem, just a bit strange; •The overlay is fine, but the excess of buttons that dont function all the time (R1, L2, S1, etc.) is a bit distracting. Plus, when in battle, not tapping on commands (Attack, Magic, Items, etc.), but instead moving the cursor with the directional pad is a little cumbersome. Maybe allow to choose between this and another control scheme when it comes to menus? •Okay. This is definitely minor, but I absolutely hate the widescreen bars on the side. This is a personal preference. It would be nice to maybe stretch the screen to 16:9 (a la PSP or Vita), or maybe a moving, gradient side-bar to avoid the static frames around the side. All-in-all, this is a welcome port of a legendary game. Its near perfect for me. Id just like to see a few fixes to make it an essential game. It gets ★★★★★ for the content alone. Looking forward to the future installments.

Broken

Man it was fine up until I couldnt play it.... It always says waiting and never works... I paid 15 bucks and it never works.... Very frustrating and disappointing.... Any ideas???

First annoying mechanical issue

In Junon, during the marching scene, it is critical that Cloud WALKS in place. Currently, there is no way to turn off auto-running, so it is difficult to perform the necessary commands to succeed at the marching mini-game. You constantly run and your score continues to drop until you fail or you have to awkwardly place your fingers on the controls to perform the inputs properly. In other words, it is hard to hold down the B-button to make Cloud walk in place and also input commands to play the marching mini-game. By simply creating a toggle button for run/walk in Config, you can fix this issue or maybe they can come up with some other creative solution.

Great but could be better

The one feature that Im shorting a start for is the no auto save. There are a lot of things I could give this game credit for in sticking with my natural bias for final fantasy as a whole. But Ive been spoiled by the lasted releases and wish that the FFXII remake would come out for iOS. Ive played type 0 and the demo for FFXV and loved them both so the bar is set high for me with the remakes of the old saga.

Huge, Enchanting, Intriguing and Fun

It felt like ever since 97 Ive heard nothing but how great Final Fantasy VII is, and why its such an amazing game and everyone should play it. Naturally, Ive always been hesitant to play it out of fear that the hype for the game would lead me to an ultimately disappointing experience, but now, in my 21st year, Ive finally had the chance to experience this game. Despite its aged appearance and some rather archaic design choices, Im still very impressed by this game and would certainly recommend it to fans of the RPG genre or those simply interested in a good story. It may not be the greatest game of all time or anything so bold, but its nothing short of a triumph, and perhaps even a masterpiece. The game runs very well on my iPod Touch 6, with no crashes or slowdown of any kind, the music comes through clearly, and the environments ooze of wonder and detail. One complaint I do have is that movement control feels somewhat slippery, but it still serves its purpose well enough I suppose. Another boom of the game is the iCloud save feature, allowing you to easily and quickly share your save across all of your iOS devices, which has been nice when I want to continue my adventure from my iPod touch with a larger screen on my iPad. From what Ive gathered, this is a very faithful port of the original game on the PlayStation, as Ive been playing through that version of the game alongside this one for the sake of comparison. The only alteration in terms of content that Ive noticed is that some of Barrets more harsh vocabulary has been censored, but I dont think it takes anything a way from his character or the core values of the experience. All things considered, I think this is a wonderful purchase for both newcomers and those who played his game as children with an original dual shock. If you have the $16 to spare, there are fare worse ways to spend it.

hate it !!!

This has got to be the worst game Ive ever played. The controls on IOS are unusable. Plus there isnt any help to tell you what any of the many buttons do.

Big finishing issue

Ok I love this game, but theres one problem. Im at safer sephiroth right now and theres multiple issues right now. 1, I have a 5s and should be able to operate correctly. 2.I remember him having like 70,000 hp not like 999,999 or something, he wont die!!!3,sometimes when Im doing good, the game just closes out on me!!! I want these issues to be fixed, but until then dont play too much and get to the final boss. Thank you

Still working the kinks out

Are they ever going to fix the Bone Village glitch? Ive been waiting well over 3 or 4 months now to continue playing a game that really wasnt that cheap.
