Minor issues

Lots of problems with controls which I dont think are going to get fixed anytime soon. Also, why cant I remove material from another person not in my party? Its annoying. Im trying to remove it from Aeris to Barret and cant so I have no choice but to out her in my party for the Junon ship battle with Sephiroth.

Nostalgic and can play in French!

Lost ALL my materia.. Must be a bug. Please fix when you can thanks.

True nirvana

Lets just get this started shall we. Im not ashamed to admit that this is my first time playing the all mighty Final Fantasy 7. Perhaps it would have been an even better experience playing it on a big screen and without the laggy moments associated with this version. Although to tell you the truth, I dont think a single thing in the entire planet could have enhanced this life changing embarkment short of having one million dollars wired into my bank account for beating the game. And as of last night, thats exactly what I did. When I first played the game I posted a review on the AppStore saying that the game was completely flawless and lag free, but that was before I left midgar. While there where still some insane technical errors that some were reporting that I did not expirence, the game did have its fair share of lag and techy issues like being stuck in a pause screen in certain battles and the only way out is to restart the game. While it does pose a problem especially if you havent saved for a while before that point, the good news is that it I a completely random occurrence that doesnt hinder you from completion of the game and only happened to me a small number of times in the gargantuan 70 hour main story. As for the lag on the world map, all you need to do is open and close the menu and its much faster. But as I said earlier NONE of those problems were even remotely troublesome enough to ruin the expirence for me. I must say its a little embarrassing to admit but I cried to death after beating it last night. The storyline is simply the most amazing thing ever written in the history of story telling including movies, books, anything. And sephiroth is the most amazing antagonist of all video game creation with the final battle against him being singlehandedly the most mind blowing expirence I have ever had in the 26 years Ive been alive. not to mention the fact that I couldnt stop crying from the moment it started till the very end and hours preceding it, (aeriss death scene also made me ball like a baby) making this the greatest video game ever made. I even watched advent children earlier today on YouTube the game was so friggn good. I must say though I am no at all surprised in saying that because that is the way all the FF games have been ever since I decided to embark on this journey of purchasing and beating all the Final Fantasy games on the iOS store in order...and that is , each one was FAR better than the last. So in that respect would 8 or 9 be even better if square ever decided to put them in the store as well? I would say probably not because Ive beaten FFX as well and although a flawless masterpiece as usual, I doesnt even begin to compete with FF7. So perhaps the succession of Final Fantasy games being better and better than the last stops with 7. And really I guess I am ok with that because although it seems easy enough for SE to add 8 and 9 to the AppStore, they probably wont because it doesnt say it anywhere in writing. (Also the fact that whenever SE does release a new FF game on the AppStore everyone and their mother just bad mouth it to death, most of all FF 7. so I dont blame SE if they wash their hands of mobile release in the future) Thats how I knew about the release of FF7 to the AppStore because I saw it listed as a platform for release on Wikipedia saying summer of 2015. But you never know I guess. Well, this is probably the end of my iOS FF journey for real this time, unless they do decide to add 8 and 9 in the future. But until then, I will never forget my memories of the greatest game of ALL time...

Beautiful

Just perfect 10/10 Would Play Again for the 273657th time

Okay, next please

What do you expect ? This is classic ff7. Its a masterpiece, square enix doesnt even bother changing the formula. Next, we need final fantasy 8. And final fantasy X

If you loved FF7 get this port

Great port! Some screens where a little difficult to navigate initially with the touchscreen but this is as good as a game for 1997 can run on a iPhone. I played through the whole game without any major issues.

Edit*

I wrote a five star review about this game already but this is my edit of it. Game is awesome play it. To apple and square where is FFVIII????

Love it!

For those complaining about saving the game just stop. This game was ported over exactly as the original. If you dont have time to spare in this game then dont buy. There are save spots throughout the game which require grinding to get to and I like it that way. Original is always better :)

Cant walk

Cant beat a part of the game since I cant walk plz fix

Great

People wine that there isnt auto saving. But this game never had it. It creates challenge to require you to save. It would be nice for a faster form of saving but it still works great.

Great for the GO

Having it FIRST on my PS1 then happy to have it portable on my PSP was great. Having on my iPad makes it better for it on a larger portable screen and the touch controls are actually great while running around Midgar. Must have for FFVII fans.

This game isnt suitable for mobile. Wish I listened to reviews.

If you dont plan to play in at least 45-60 minute sessions, dont get this game. You can only save at designated save points. So you are forced to play for long periods of time until you reach a save point, or you find yourself replaying portions of the game. You cant pick it up and put it down at will. And the controls and screen are to cramped for the expansive environments. It really just doesnt work on mobile.

Is this ever going to get fixed?

Ive played through twice now and have run into the same problem. Ill finish both Wutai missions, go to Bone Village after Arieth leaves, and the game wont let me climb the ladder to the upper area to find the Lunar Harp. Ive wasted a considerable amount of time waiting for this glitch to get fixed after all whole year and keep running into the same problem after spending a considerable amount of money. When are you going to fix thisll game?!?

Max Stats option doesnt max every character?

This is one of my top 5 games of all time, and thats the only reason this gets three stars from me. The app for 6s plus is adequate, but needs a widescreen option and customizable controls. My biggest complaint is when using the max stats feature (at the beginning of the game, I havent tried using it later on), a few of the playable characters do not get maxed to level 99 or have all their limits as intended. Yuffie, Cait Sith and Vincent in particular come into your party with a random level. It would be nice if this issue were to be addressed, but their levels are still high enough to speed run without any struggle for those who are wondering. This port also does not have the quality the PC port has, which is disappointing. Overall, I dont regret purchasing the app, but it needs work.

Brings me back.

This is my all time favorite game from when I was young. I spent hundreds of hours finding all the gear and breeding just the right Chocobo. Im extremely pleased with the quality of this game. It seems to me the only people playing it are people who didnt grow up playing it like many of us did. I dont see any problems with the controls or the game crashing when I pop out and pop back into the app. Im really happy that I paid the money to get this game this brings me back to my childhood and I cant imagine not spending hours on end playing this.

Hastily made port

I have all of the first 7 Final Fantasy games for iOS and this port is hands down the worst. While every other game has been modified to be touch screen friendly, FF7 looks like they took a cheap PlayStation emulator and packaged it as a full priced title. The controls are just awkwardly overlaid on the screen and take away from the experience. I preferred the older 8bit and 16bit FF games when I was younger so I dont have nostalgia for this one, but the cheap port pushes it over the edge. Wish I didnt buy it.

Straight port of original game not for iPad

The controls are terrible. You get a virtual control like the old console but no instructions on how to use them anywhere. Figure the game is running under an emulator. Had to fumble around the Internet to figure out control mappings so could start playing. Plus have to keep suffering through cutscenes and dialogs dont want to repeat.

Great Game

I was a huge fan of this game growing up and having it on my phone is awesome. Honestly I still havent even beat it but this game offers so many hours of fun and yeah it gets frustrating but thats the fun of it. 10/10 great game and love having it on the phone. The controls on some parts are a little hard and kind of restrict you but its on a phone what can you expect. Any ways great game worth the money for hours of fun.

No save?

I have started this game at least 15 times, only to have to put my phone down or something and I cant save. It might be a great game but I cant get past the first save. Waste of money.

Suggestions SQUARE!

Customized controls of tap nature instead of the virtual d pad would make this game truly special on Apple devices! Please consider making this happen! Please design like final fantasy 9 controls on IOS Please release ffvii gbike to u.s.!
